If your in the process of buying a home, your probably thinking about whether you should invest in obtaining a home survey report and whether it’s worth the money?!
In this blog we're going to explain to you the choices you have available to you and why you shouldn’t think twice about getting a survey done before committing to such a large investment.
There are three main types of home survey reports available to you; they consist of the - RICS Condition Survey (Level 1), RICS HomeBuyer Report (Level 2) (either with or without a valuation) and ultimately the RICS Building Survey (Level 3). The difference between each survey type varies significantly.
Firstly I am going to start with the most basic of reports you can obtain. This is called the RICS Condition Survey or Level 1 - Condition Survey. Now this is what any building surveyor would call the entry grade survey.
This survey is usually carried out on properties that are new and have little or no real concerns
Note: If looking at obtaining a quote from severalto have a condition survey ... you may find that many building surveying practices don’t actually offer this service ... this is because it is considered a little too basic ... additionally it doesn’t really offer some bigger surveying practices any real financial incentive to perform this type of survey .... this is because the level of information required usually outweighs the actual time it takes to type up the actually report .... it’s all down to the size surveying practice.
